Wanted Moody 33 Eclipse Bilge Keel

Not offering ours for sale, sorry....Caranna... she is a fin keel anyway.
We bought her in April, and we have been really pleased. Sailing performance is quite respectable, and accomodation/comfort is amazing.
Hopefully, Steve, you find one, I don't you will be disappointed.

Hi Philip
Can I ask you a question
A couple of the boats I have looked at seem to have wood that is water damaged or through dampness
This often seems bad on the roof cupboards in the front v berth
Have you found this on yours and can it be fixed?
Thanks
Steve

Steve,
Short answer is no, all the internal joinery is in good condition....cupboards in forepeak is as good as new.
Large windows sloping windows to the saloon can be a source of leaks and excess condensation dripping from the aluminium frames.... so we have slightly water staining to the sloping shelf there.

The leaks in the fore peak will probably be coming from the pulpit bases.

Also check any cable penetrations or dry plugs as these are prone to leaks.

Ah, that would make sense - so fairly easily fixable.
Thanks
Steve
This is what I found when I bought my E33, on the starboard side there was a leak from the puplpit and the nav light cable plug socket. Fixed by releasing the pull pit, re bedding with CT1 and replacing the socket. I'm not sure if all E33's have access through the first locker. mine has an access port on both sides, twist off 5" plastic cap. then up to your elbows to reach the nuts holding the bits on to the deck. Fortunately hasn't damaged the wood.

Thanks all, the search goes on for a bilge keel version!
Steve

Give up, just take fin version from Finland :)
You will also have interesting trip...
